Kari Heliö is the partner in charge of the Garnett Ltd Helsinki office and practices in the areas of business law and international trade. Mr. Heliö provides clients with general business advice including negotiating and drafting agreements, litigation avoidance, corporate transactions, security issues, mergers and acquisitions and sale of businesses. Mr. Heliö has significant experience in international construction projects, international joint ventures and know-how contracts, international acquisitions, foreign trade transactions as well as an extensive management experience related to internationally operating companies.
Prior to entering private practice Mr. Heliö served as General Counsel and Secretary to the Board of Directors for Jaakko Pöyry Group PLC, one of the leading consulting engineering companies in Europe, and as General Counsel of Ekono Oy, another major consulting engineering company, owned by the Finnish industry.
Mr. Heliö has also served as a Member of the Supervisory Board of Interbank PLC and as a Board Member of several Finnish and foreign companies belonging to the Jaakko Pöyry Group and the Ekono Group of Companies.
